Grant Writing
Successfully obtained grants from:
- Ford Foundation, $230,000. (SFSU)
- Evelyn and Walter Haas Jr. Fund, $60,000. (Ark of Refuge)
- Arcus Foundation, $50,000. (Ark of Refuge)
- Gill Foundation, $40,000 and $42,000. (Yvette Flunder Foundation)
Writing successful grants is not a solo effort. I had conversations with and collected loose notes from various people in these organizations which I transformed into in a coherent narrative. Additionally, in each of these cases, I succeeded by maintaining strong relationships with the program officers at these foundations. Often the program officers were inclined to support our projects, and wanted to be educated in order to make a strong case inside their foundation.
