There is a lot of talk these days about fulfilling your dreams. I think it is incredibly important that you live your life in the way that you want to, and not in the way that someone else wants to. The attention that the film and book The Secret has gotten and all the variations of it, has been important to give you the sense that you have indeed the power to fulfill your dreams.
But I miss something from all of this. Something terribly important to me. There is absolutely no talk about justice and no talk about service. And I firmly believe that if you can go beyond yourself and serve others, or a cause that is much greater than you or your dreams, then you will find fulfillment greater than following your dreams can give you.
For some, pursuing justice and being of service are the substance of your dreams. More power to you. I think that you have the true secret to a fulfilling life. Just don’t loose your sense of humor.
