This is the first episode of this podcast and it was a great start. I interview Jade Hayes, who is a community director for Steve&Kate’s Camp. She also runs in the woods or on the beaches with homeschooling kids.
I have to admit though, I thought it would be totally cool to do this interview outside. Only later did I realize how much the windscreen didn’t protect the mic from the wind. So, at times the interview is hard to hear. But please, listen anyway. Jade is fantastic, one of those people who gets it with kids. We talked about play, about the outdoors, about safety—that risks calms the kids’ nerves—all those wonderful topics that I get to interview about. And towards the end she talks about learning from kids. Listen. I think you’ll be moved.
